description The article addresses the persistent invisibility of Afro-Brazilian history and culture in the school curriculum as a detrimental factor in the maintenance of structural racism in Brazil, significantly impacting the self-esteem and identity of children and young people of African descent. Despite the 20 years of Law 10,639/03, which standardized teaching on the subject, challenges persist in the effectiveness of implementing measures that enable the practical implementation of the normative role, since the teaching of ethnic-racial relations should not be merely optional, but mandatory at all levels of education, including teacher training. The research proposes the urgency of a decolonial school curriculum, which promotes a critical reassessment of traditional Eurocentric content, predominantly in the educational system. The Maria Felipa School, located in Salvador and recognized as a pioneering Afro-Brazilian school, is the focus of the research, representing an institution that seeks to build a decolonial curriculum, promoting equality, cultural diversity and combating racism. The central objective of the research is to analyze the decolonial and anti-racist curriculum at Escola Maria Felipa, identifying possibilities for replicating its practices in other educational institutions. The research results highlight how the promotion of equality and cultural diversity, as well as the fight against racism and other forms of oppression, can be made possible through compliance with the law and the implementation of a decolonial curriculum, contributing to a more inclusive education and aware of ethnic-racial issues. A pesquisa aborda a persistente invisibilidade da história e cultura afro-brasileira no currículo escolar como um fator prejudicial para a manutenção do racismo estrutural no Brasil, impactando significativamente a autoestima e identidade das crianças e jovens afrodescendentes. Apesar dos 20 anos da Lei 10.639/03, que normatizou o ensino sobre a temática, os desafios persistem na eficácia da implementação de medidas que possibilitem a implementação prática do papel normativo, uma vez que o ensino das relações étnico-raciais não deve ser meramente facultativo, mas uma obrigatoriedade em todos os níveis da educação, incluindo a formação de professores. A pesquisa propõe a urgência de um currículo escolar decolonial, que promova uma reavaliação crítica do conteúdo tradicional eurocêntrico, predominantemente no sistema educacional. A Escola Afro-brasileira Maria Felipa, localizada em Salvador e reconhecida como uma escola afro-brasileira pioneira, é o foco da pesquisa, representando uma instituição que busca construir um currículo decolonial, promovendo a igualdade, a diversidade cultural e combatendo o racismo. O objetivo central da pesquisa é analisar o currículo decolonial e antirracista da Escola Afro-brasileira Maria Felipa, identificando possibilidades de replicar suas práticas em outras instituições educativas.
