Resumo:Given that teaching Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) poses a considerable challenge for both teachers and beginner students, often resulting in difficulties in content continuity and retention of students in undergraduate courses. This study aims to investigate the impacts of implementing material based on the constructionist approach, utilizing graphical interfaces, and promoting self-directed learning in OOP instruction. The goal is to analyze how these elements influence programming behavior and the self-directed learning ability of students. The results obtained indicate a significant increase in the development of students’ self-directed learning ability with the adoption of the new methodology, as well as noteworthy outcomes in programming behavior.
