Resumo:Food waste is a factor that generates global concern and Brazil is a major producer of solid waste, ranking as Food and Nutrition Units (UAN) in this context. University Restaurants (RU) have high rates of waste and one of the ways to reduce waste in these units is Educational Campaigns. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of a campaign against food waste on waste rates in the UK at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), carried out by raising awareness of comments. Data collection was carried out from August to October 2023 through Rest-Intake (RI) analysis. The results demonstrated that there was a significant reduction in the rest-intake index only at dinner (p=0.02) after the campaign and that the results obtained were good, in accordance with the literature. The results demonstrated that there was a significant impact of the campaign, but they highlight the need for continued practice of nutritional education actions.
