Resumo:This course completion work aims to discuss the teaching practice and learning of children with autism spectrum disorder in basic education. The methodology and procedures adopted for writing this work are based on research and bibliographical (literary) review of authors and writings that discuss and reflect on the subject. The results show that teachers play an essential role in the learning of students with autism, contributing to the school inclusion of these students in educational institutions and performing pedagogical practices necessary for the development of their skills, competencies and knowledge. It is concluded that, like other students, autistic students learn in different ways and times, justifying the relevance of the role and commitment of teachers in the education of this public and other students with disabilities.
