description Objectives: Questioning the teaching-learning process in health is an urgent need to consolidate the fact that scientific knowledge, solely and exclusively, does not cover the subjects' subjectivities and does not reach the concepts of humanization and integral care considered as health budgets in Brazil. (BRAZIL, 2004). Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the inclusion of themes about the health of the LBGT population in health education in speech therapy courses at public universities located in the Brazilian Northeast. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) under opinion nº nº 4.949.051, carried out with graduating students of speech therapy courses at public universities located in the Brazilian Northeast. Results: In the analyzed period, 55 answers were obtained in the questionnaire made available to analyze the students' knowledge. The questionnaire was formulated in 3 modules: 1 - Characterization of the students; 2 - University education and 3 - Students' conceptions. In view of the responses obtained, it was possible to verify, for the most part, low percentages of people who claim to have had access to content on the health of the LGBT population during their health training. Conclusion: Therefore, it is very urgent to reformulate the curriculum of speech therapy courses in order to include discussions, themes and experiences that can offer students access to the necessary knowledge to act with universality and equity in this population. Such an attitude will provide professionals with welcoming service, political and social knowledge, improve the health care rates of these users and create environments without prejudice and discrimination.

Objetivo: Problematizar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem em saúde é uma necessidade urgente para consolidar o fato de que o saber científico, única e exclusivamente, não abrange as subjetividades dos sujeitos e não atinge os conceitos de humanização e atenção integral tidos como pressupostos da saúde no Brasil, (BRASIL, 2004). Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a inserção das temáticas sobre a saúde da população LBGT na formação em saúde nos cursos de fonoaudiologia de Universidades Públicas localizadas no Nordeste Brasileiro. Métodos:Trata-se de um estudo transversal e descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa, aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (CEP) sob parecer nº 4.949.051 (Anexo 1), realizado com alunos concluintes dos cursos de graduação em fonoaudiologia de Universidades Públicas localizadas no Nordeste Brasileiro. Resultados: No período analisado, foram obtidas 55 respostas no questionário disponibilizado para analisar o conhecimento dos discentes. O questionário foi formulado em 3 módulos: 1 - Caracterização dos estudantes; 2 - Formação universitária e 3 - Concepções dos estudantes. Diante das respostas obtidas, foi possível verificar, em sua maioria, baixas porcentagens de pessoas que afirmam ter tido acesso aos conteúdos sobre a saúde da população LGBT durante sua formação em saúde. Conclusão: Portanto, é necessário demasiada urgência na reformulação na grade curricular dos cursos de fonoaudiologia com finalidade de incluir discussões, temáticas e vivências que possam oferecer aos estudantes acesso aos conhecimentos necessários para atuar com universalidade e equidade nessa população.
