The tales specifically theme of this study, are rediscovered by readers, bringing incantations. This is a bibliographic research, with the aim to gather and condense the work done on the subject of stories in the literacy process. Therefore, in appropriated evidence from various methodologies and approaches various sources. There was a need for studies to work the theme, allowing to broaden the discussion on educational meetings and increase access this intervention in classrooms, from the findings of their contributions. Thus, although it is expected that this study will raise awareness among education professionals to rethink their teaching practices, establish in the school setting the teacher's role as facilitator in the teaching-learning process, allowing the student to interest from the initial series. O presente estudo se propõe a discutir a contribuição dos contos no processo de alfabetização de alunos do Pré II. A contação de histórias retrata as histórias, as experiências vividas, os valores e os ideais de um tempo. Posteriormente, deu-se o surgimento do conto, da lenda, da fábula, do mito, entre outros, por meio da aquisição da linguagem e pela necessidade e vivência de um povo. Os contos, especificamente, temática deste estudo, são redescobertos por leitores, trazendo encantamentos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo como finalidade reunir e condensar os trabalhos desenvolvidos sobre a temática dos contos no processo de alfabetização. Assim, nos apropriamos de evidências a partir de várias metodologias, diversas fontes e abordagens. Observou-se a necessidade de estudos que trabalhem a temática, possibilitando ampliar a discussão nas reuniões pedagógicas e aumentar o acesso dessa intervenção em salas de aula, a partir dos achados de suas contribuições.
