The first was to praise the role of nonconventional education, that is, that is far from the bonds of modern capitalism, aiming only at profit to the detriment of the individual's ethical and moral enrichment, that it becomes an agent that transforms the environment in which it lives. The second, like Paulo Freire, sought to break with the model of banking education in force through theatrical games, an indispensable tool for self-expression and autonomy of the individual. Reflective in character, the present work seeks to discuss about conscientization, emancipation, liberation and overcoming of the oppressed/ oppressed binomial, using experiences lived in schools and other institutions, such as the penitentiary system. Finally, it is justified by the need to emerge in the educational sphere subjects capable of thinking and transforming the world. Esta pesquisa baseia-se no posicionamento ético-político de mudança social através de uma educação libertadora que converge entre o pensamento de Paulo Freire e Augusto Boal. O primeiro se dispôs a enaltecer, durante toda sua trajetória intelectual, o papel da educação não convencional, ou seja, aquela que está longe das amarras do capitalismo moderno, visando tão somente o lucro em detrimento do enriquecimento ético e moral do indivíduo, fazendo com que este se torne agente transformador do meio em que vive. Já o segundo buscou – assim como Paulo Freire – romper com o modelo de educação bancária vigente por meio do Teatro do Oprimido, ferramenta indispensável de autoexpressão e autonomia do indivíduo. De caráter reflexivo, o presente trabalho busca discutir sobre conscientização, emancipação, libertação e superação do binômio opressor/oprimido, utilizando-se de experiências vivenciadas nas escolas e em outras instituições, tais como o sistema penitenciário.
