Resumo:The photographic record has been increasingly used in dietary surveys, since it is a measure of the homemade preparations already made, resulting in a visual stimulation, causing the person who isbeing interviewed to provide more accurate data. Thefore, the present study aimed to develop the preparation of technical specifications (PTS) of the culinary preparations presents in the Food Guide for the Brazilian Population and to carry out the photographic records of its portions. On the results as found portions were quite close to those that the guide indicates, only in preparations of pasta in tomato sauce, roast chicken, ground beef, potato and banana that showed a difference greater in results comparing with the guide. It was concluded that the photographic record of the preparations usually consumed by the Brazilian population, demonstrates a practicality and understanding of the portions sizes for the people.
