Resumo: | The Triennial Action Plan for Undergraduate Courses (PATCG), from the Federal University of Rio
Grande do Norte (UFRN), was approved at the end of 2017 through Resolution nr. 181/2017-
CONSEPE, contemplating the policy of improving the quality of Undergraduate and Graduation
Courses Program established in the Institutional Development Plan (PDI) of this institution. After this
approval, all undergraduate courses at the university were responsible for building the PATCG in order
to develop strategies to face the weaknesses presented and guide actions to improve the indicators,
which are generated and disseminated by the National Evaluation System of the Higher Education
(SINAES). This research aimed, as a general objective, to analyze the current information flow in the
construction of PATCG present in undergraduate courses at the Center for Social and Applied Sciences
at UFRN, proposing possible improvements in this flow. It is an applied research, with a qualitative
approach and classified as descriptive. The study subjects were the coordinators of the undergraduate
courses at the Center for Social and Applied Sciences at UFRN, as they are responsible for producing
the PATCG. Data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview with these
coordinators through a census investigation in which the successful points and barriers faced by the
research subjects in the preparation of the PATCG were highlighted, with the intention of strengthening
the successful proposals and suggest strategies for coping with the barriers presented with the
recommendation of a model of information flow from the experiences, expectations and experiences
of the subjects themselves. For data analysis, the content analysis technique was performed. The
research confirmed the existence of an information flow with some disjointed and non-standardized
steps, becoming obstacles of the plans production. The research results sharpened the need for
improvements in the flow of information, of an institutional nature, as it is contributing to the policy
of improving UFRN’s undergraduate courses; ornanizational for offering a proposal to improve the
information flow present in the construction of PATCG; and human, for being willing to cooperate
with those involved in the process of building the plans, with proposals for strengthening this flow,
based on the Model of Choo (2003). It is hoped that the suggestions for improvement, presented here,
can contribute to the implementation of actions that reverberate in a standardized information flow,
collaborating, in a significant way, with the policy of continuous improvement of undergraduate
courses proposed by UFRN, in addition to boosting the optimization of information management,
contributing to new practices for the acquisition, organization, storage, distribution and use of
information. |
