description Abstract: The research aimed to problematize the historical course of the concept of emancipation from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century with authors as: Immanuel Kant; Theodor Adorno; Max Horkheimer and some representatives of the movements of emergency and inmersion of educational and pedagogical projects of Latinoamerica: Paulo Freire, Dermeval Saviani, Enrique Dussel and Marco Raúl Jiménez. Some of the implications that this concept has had in the different changes of the social models present in these times are highlighted. This is a bibliographic research of a qualitative nature. When addressing the concept of emancipation, with ideas such as the emergence of consciousness and autonomy, the principle arises that education can be a means for man to become man. In addressing the concept of emancipation, this study indicates its importance for the consolidation of a democratic and inclusive education project, which makes ruptures with conservative paradigms anchored in the neoliberal ideology that, in the last decade, has spread, especially in the field of educational policies.

La investigación tuvo como objetivo problematizar el recorrido histórico-filosófico del concepto de emancipación desde el siglo diecisiete hasta el siglo veinte, a partir de los siguientes autores seleccionados: Immanuel Kant, Theodor Adorno, Max Horkheimer y algunos representantes de los movimientos de surgimiento e inmersión de proyectos educativos y pedagógicos de Latinoamérica: Paulo Freire, Dermeval Saviani, Enrique Dussel y Marco Raúl Jiménez. Se destacan algunas implicaciones de ese concepto en los diferentes cambios de los modelos sociales presentes en estas épocas. Se trata de una investigación bibliográfica, de naturaleza cualitativa. Al abordar el concepto de emancipación, con ideas tales como: la emergencia de la consciencia y la autonomía, surge el principio de que la educación puede ser un medio para que el hombre se torne hombre. Por lo tanto  este estudio indica la importancia de la consolidación de un proyecto de educación democrática e inclusiva, que haga rupturas con paradigmas conservadores instalados en la ideología liberal que, en la última década, se ha expandido, especialmente en el campo de las políticas educativas. A pesquisa objetivou problematizar o percurso histórico-filosófico do conceito emancipação desde o século XVII até o século XX, a partir dos seguintes autores selecionados: Immanuel Kant, Theodor Adorno, Max Horkheimer e alguns representantes dos movimentos de emergência e inmersão  de projetos educativos e pedagógicos de Latinoamerica: Paulo Freire, Dermeval Saviani, Enrique Dussel e Marco Raúl Jiménez. Destacam-se algumas implicações desse conceito nas diferentes mudanças dos modelos sociais presentes nestas épocas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de natureza qualitativa. Ao abordar o conceito de emancipação, com ideias tais como: a emergência da consciência e a autonomia, surge o princípio de que a educação pode ser um meio para que o homem se torne homem. Portanto esse estudo indica a importância da consolidação de um projeto de educação democrática e inclusiva, que faça rupturas com paradigmas conservadores ancorados no ideário neoliberal que, na última década, tem se espraiado, especialmente no campo das políticas educacionais.
