Resumo: | The school environment had remodel needs to include children with specific school needs, that, most of the time, were segregated. From that other demands appeared for this school space, amongst them, the subject needs to facilitate the inclusion of this childs, moment when non-mandatory intership comes into action . This way, this article seek to reflect how the performance of the psychology course students works, from a public university in the state of RN, how interns, well as the challenges on the way, early childhood education accompanying children with specific educational need. in publics teaching units of Natal/RN. The research was developed through a qualitative methodological approach, applied questionnaires with seven students in non-mandatory internship, in order to analyze how the practice of internships with children with specific educational needs, it was possible to reflect on the pretice of the non mandatory internship, the incoming difficulties, as well as about the contribution offered for those interns, that even in process of initial formation, and not having specialized training in the area of special education, they collaborate with the inclusion and development of children with specific educational needs.
