The investigation presents a bibliographic analysis of four academic research, which bring together different regions of Brazil, different forms of insertion of dance in the school curriculum and different times of teaching activity. It is concluded that, if we treat dance in a current, contextualized way and without reproducing historical discourses of the dance knowledge area, it is possible to perceive that it is often found in school parties consciously and through didactically justified choreographic creation processes. This is attributed to the expansion of the area, having more and more professionals licensed in the specific subject, thus increasing the diversity of teaching, as well as expanding the spaces of action in the school curriculum. O trabalho investiga a relação entre ensino de dança, festas escolares e outras possibilidades de acontecimento e inserção da dança na educação básica brasileira. A investigação apresenta análise bibliográfica de quatro pesquisas acadêmicas, que congregam diferentes regiões do Brasil, diversas formas de inserção da dança no currículo escolar e distintos tempos de atuação docente. Conclui-se que, se tratarmos a dança de forma atual, contextualizada e sem reproduzir discursos históricos do campo, é possível perceber que ela, muitas vezes, encontra-se nas festas escolares de forma consciente e através de processos de criação coreográfica justificados didaticamente. Atribui-se isso ao alargamento do campo, tendo cada vez mais profissionais licenciados na disciplina específica, aumentando, assim, a diversidade do ensino, bem como ampliando os espaços de atuação no currículo escolar.
