It also highlights theway in which the concept of social sex emerged through anthropologicalstudies. Following this, it describes the roles and stereotypes attributedto men and women in contemporary societies as well as secondaryeducation in France and other countries. To do so, it presents the wayin which Experimental Psychology tests as BSRI measure the rates ofEstereótipos e preconceitos de gênero na educação profissional francesa 65people’s masculinity, femininity and neutrality, discussing their utility.Finally, through a clinical case and quantitative study on professionaleducation students and Physical Education teachers, the article exploresthe functioning of prejudices and gender markers in France. O artigo objetiva clarificar o que se entende por estereótipos e preconceitosde gênero e fornecer algumas pistas sobre representações demasculinidade e de feminilidade no domínio das formações profissionaisfrancesas. Primeiramente, ao fazer um desvio pela antropologia, o textomostra como, em outros grupos sociais e no contexto da educação profissional,ocorreram distinções sociais a partir do gênero, bem como apontaa maneira através da qual o conceito de sexo social emergiu via estudosantropológicos. Em seguida, descreve quais são os papéis e os estereótiposatribuídos a homens e mulheres, tanto nas sociedades contemporâneasquanto na educação secundária francesa e em outros países. Para tanto,apresenta o modo pelo qual testes de Psicologia Experimental, comoBSRI, mensuram as taxas de masculinidade, feminilidade e neutralidadede pessoas, discutindo sua utilidade. Por fim, através de um caso clínicoe um estudo quantitativo sobre estudantes de educação profissional eprofessoras de Educação Física, o artigo explora o funcionamento dospreconceitos e dos marcadores de gênero na França.
