Currently, autism is understood as a spectrum, including a complex and wide range of characteristics, with different levels of severity and comorbidities with other disorders (BAIO et al., 2018; KOHANE et al., 2012). Despite the growing presence of students with this diagnosis in regular classes, national and international research reveals that schools have difficulties in academically evaluating these students (MARIN; BRAUN, 2018; OLIVEIRA, 2017; KEEN et al., 2021). Evaluation presents itself as a necessary pillar to build a practice that promotes participation and learning. This material, published in digital format, aims to help teachers academically assess students with autism, encouraging actions that promote the inclusion of these students. The information presented here aims to contribute to didactic planning, diversifying assessment strategies and reducing barriers. This booklet presents information about the evaluation process of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), summarizes essential information about the central characteristics of ASD and the formative, summative and diagnostic dimensions of the academic evaluation of students with this diagnosis. O Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo (TEA) é uma condição caracterizada, segundo a Associação Americana de Psiquiatria (APA) (2013) e Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) (2015), por dificuldades socio-comunicativas e padrões atípicos de comportamento, que se tornam evidentes ao longo do desenvolvimento, iniciando-se nos primeiros anos da infância. Na atualidade, o autismo é entendido como espectro, incluindo uma complexa e ampla gama de características, com diferentes níveis de severidade e comorbidades com outros transtornos (BAIO et al., 2018; KOHANE et al., 2012). A despeito da crescente presença de educandos com esse diagnóstico em salas regulares, pesquisas nacionais e internacionais revelam que as escolas apresentam dificuldades em avaliar academicamente esse alunado (MARIN; BRAUN, 2018; OLIVEIRA, 2017; KEEN et al., 2021).O processo avaliativo se apresenta como pilar necessário para construir uma prática que promova participação e aprendizagem. Este material, divulgado em formato digital, tem como intuito auxiliar docentes a avaliar academicamente alunos com autismo, fomentando ações que promovam a inclusão desse educando. As informações aqui apresentadas visam contribuir com o planejamento didático, diversificando as estratégias avaliativas e diminuindo barreiras.
