description The evaluation of professional training is developed based on different methodologies and objectives, and the changes that need to be adopted to improve this process must be identified from the perspective of graduates and students. In practice scenarios, these assessments carried out by the preceptor based on demonstrating the residents' ethical, political and scientific knowledge need to be very clear and recorded for a continuous process that allows feedback between preceptor and resident. The objective is to build a guide for evaluating nursing residents who work on the internship rotation in the Adult Intensive Care Unit, who are in the area of concentration in Adult Intensive Care and Cardiology. This is a methodological study to create a guide for evaluating nursing residents. It was developed in three stages: 1) Focus group of nursing preceptors; 2) Focus group of nursing residents; and 3) Construction of the guide for evaluating nursing residents. The research was carried out in the Adult Intensive Care Unit of the Onofre Lopes University Hospital. The focus groups took place from November to December 2022, lasted 90 minutes and were led by the moderator. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, supported by the IRAMUTEQ software. Based on the focal syntheses obtained from the focus groups of nursing preceptors and residents, using support from relevant literature on the topic, a resident evaluation guide was created using the support of the Canva tool . The study respected the ethical principles recommended for research carried out with human beings by Resolution nº 466/2012 and nº 510/2016 of the National Health Council. In the focus group of preceptors, all have specialization in preceptorship working in this area for between seven and eight years and are female. The preceptors' focus group responses could be categorized into four main themes: assessment process; role of the preceptor; resident skills; and changes in assessment. In the residents' focus group, participants were 67% female and 33% male. Half of the residents have a concentration in Adult Intensive Care and completed their degree less than a year ago and the other half have a concentration in Cardiology and completed their degree two years ago. Their responses could be categorized into five main themes: evaluation process; role of the preceptor; field of practice; needs in assessment and changes in assessment. The development of the Assessment Guide arose from the need to implement other forms of assessment during the internship rotation in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. The topics in the evaluation guide refer to what should guide the evaluation process, the role of the preceptor and resident during the evaluation and how to evaluate using complementary evaluation methods in residency. This research is expected to produce positive results in the evaluation process during residency, in addition to supporting new investigations related to the topic.

Nos cenários das práticas, essas avaliações realizadas pelo preceptor a partir da demonstração do conhecimento ético, político e científico dos residentes necessitam estar bem claras e registradas para um processo contínuo e que permita o feedback entre preceptor e residente. Objetivou-se construir um guia para avaliação formativa de residentes de enfermagem que atuam na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Adulto do Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes. Trata-se de um estudo metodológico desenvolvido em três etapas: 1) Grupo focal dos preceptores de enfermagem; 2) Grupo focal dos residentes de enfermagem, os quais são da área de concentração em Terapia Intensiva Adulto e Cardiologia; e 3) Construção do guia para avaliação de residentes de enfermagem. A pesquisa foi realizada na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Adulto do Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes. Os grupos focais aconteceram de novembro a dezembro de 2022, tiveram duração de 90 minutos e foram conduzidos pelo moderador. Os dados foram analisados a partir de análise temática, com suporte do software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires (IRAMUTEQ). A partir das sínteses focais obtidas dos grupos focais de preceptores e residentes de enfermagem, utilizando suporte de literatura pertinente sobre o tema, foi construído um guia de avaliação de residentes usando o suporte da ferramenta Canva. O estudo respeitou os princípios éticos preconizados para pesquisas realizadas com seres humanos pela Resolução nº 466/2012 e nº 510/2016 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde. No grupo focal dos preceptores, todos possuem especialização em preceptoria atuando nesta área entre sete e oito anos e são do sexo feminino. As respostas do grupo focal dos preceptores puderam ser categorizadas em quatro temas principais: processo de avaliação; papel do preceptor; habilidades dos residentes; e mudanças na avaliação. No grupo focal dos residentes, os participantes são 67% do sexo feminino e 33% do sexo masculino. Metade dos residentes possui a área de concentração em Terapia Intensiva Adulto e concluíram a graduação há menos de um ano e a outra metade é da área de concentração em Cardiologia e concluiu a graduação há dois anos. Suas respostas puderam ser categorizadas em cinco temas principais: processo de avaliação; papel do preceptor; campo da prática; necessidades na avaliação e mudanças na avaliação. O desenvolvimento do Guia de Avaliação surgiu a partir da necessidade de implementação de outras formas de avaliação durante o rodízio de estágio na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Adulto. O guia de avaliação foi estruturado em quatro capítulos: o que deve guiar o processo avaliativo; qual o papel do residente na avaliação; qual o papel do preceptor na avaliação; e como avaliar utilizando métodos de avaliação complementares na residência. Apresenta-se produto que pode subsidiar melhorias no processo avaliação no contexto da residência. O guia de avaliação é indicado para ser utilizado pelos preceptores e residentes ao longo do período da residência.
