Resumo:This dissertation aims to evaluate the outcomes of the Programa de Integração Ensino e Extensão (PEEX) for the education of undergraduate students at the Universidade Federal do Cariri (UFCA) from 2016 to 2019.To achieve this, it has the following specific objectives: Present an overview of the management model of the Teaching and Extension Integration Program; Map the projects of PEEX, activities, and their participants; Verify the level of integration between teaching and extension activities carried out within undergraduate courses through the Program; Identify the contributions of PEEX to the development of competencies and skills of students, scholarship holders, and project volunteers; Identify challenges for the effectiveness of PEEX; and Propose actions to improve the effectiveness of the Program. These objectives were developed based on a theoretical framework with an emphasis on evaluating the results of public policies from a multi-centric, positive, and constructive perspective. It is an exploratory-descriptive study that will adopt a qualitative-quantitative approach and use the case study as a research strategy. For the realization of this research, two main data collection techniques were adopted: survey and documentary research. Different research instruments were used for each technique: structured questionnaire and spreadsheet, respectively. The collected data were analyzed according to their quantitative or qualitative nature through content analysis techniques and basic descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the conducted research, it is evaluated that PEEX has satisfactorily contributed to the education of UFCA undergraduate students, as it allowed the development of competencies and skills of scholarship holders and project volunteers. The evaluation also identified the challenges faced by the Program and proposed actions to improve its effectiveness, highlighting the empirical relevance of this proposal, which allowed bringing data and information that could provide elements for university management to rethink its policy, make necessary adjustments for the said policy to be improved, and achieve its success.
