Resumo:The physical inactivity and obesity are growing alarmingly, being considered a worldwide epidemic. The motivational stages to behavioural change represent a periodin which, perthe individuality of each one, a series of attitudes is needed to change. For each stage of change, processes and various postures leads to a progress.To identify the motivational stages to behavioural change related to the lifestyle of adolescents with overweight and obesity seen in a pediatric clinic.This is a cross-sectional study exploratory type, through descriptive statistics of the data. Have been assessed adolescents of both sexes, overweight and obesity and school age between 10 and 17 years and 11 months, attended in the Pediatric Clinic Nutrition of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (HUOL/UFRN).Most teens with overweight and obesity were in the early motivational stages to behavioural change related to lifestyle. Maintaining habits is difficult and requires significant changes. Thus, a healthy lifestyle needs planning, development of autonomy in food choices, amongother factors.
