Resumo:Introduction: Introduction: Therapeutic Touch is a variation of several ancient healing practices by laying hands on the patient's body. It acts on the Human Energy Field, repatterning energy imbalances that cause complaints and psychosomatic symptoms. Developed by Dolores Krieger in partnership with Dora Kunz in the USA, it is based on the principles of Quantum Physics and Nursing Theory. Martha Rogers about the Science of the Unitary Human Being, within the precepts of Phenomenology and General Systems Theory. Objectives: This study had the general objective of identifying in the literature how Therapeutic Touch is used in Nursing care in Brazil and, as a specific objective, describing the benefits that the patient presents and reflecting on the use of Therapeutic Touch in nursing care. Methodology: An integrative literature review was used as a methodology, with a view to providing a synthesis of scientific knowledge with a view to promoting the applicability of its results. Data collection took place in the PubMed databases, which is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and in the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Results and discussion: 9 articles from studies carried out in Brazil were selected, published between the years 2000 and 2019. The results indicate that Therapeutic Touch brought improvements in wound healing, a significant decrease in the intensity of chronic pain in the elderly, a reduction of self-assessment depression scores, reduction of anxiety state, improvement in sleep quality, relaxation of children, reduction of side effects of chemotherapy and promotion of a sense of well-being. Final Considerations: Given what is presented, the practice of Therapeutic Touch meets the desires for a holistic action, as based on the integral vision of the human being, Nursing finds a vast field for insertion in assistance and other areas of professional activity
