| Resumo: | The Câmara Cascudo Museum of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte celebrated, in 2020, 60 years of its foundation facing numerous challenges related not only to the field of museology, but to the university environment. This work aims to narrate a brief history of the museums's trajectory with a focus on interferences, positive and negative, of UFRN policies, mainly cultural/museum policies. We intend to show how the insti-tution has been implementing positive measures more ostensibly throughout its sixth decade of existence, such as the improvement of its exhibitions, of educational actions, of accessibility, of engagement with the public, and the use of new technologies combined with the qualified expansion of its staff.
