From this point on, geologists and geomorphologists have focused their studies on protecting geoheritage, mainly in the context of geomorphological heritage, through geoconservation. In this research, geoheritage is based on a set of elements of exceptional value, divided into different categories of heritage with a specific focus on some areas, namely: geological heritage; geomorphological, hydrological, pedological, paleontological and others. However, geomorphological heritage, the object of this research, is characterized as a set of relief forms to which some type of value is attributed (scientific and/or aesthetic, cultural, economic, functional and educational). The objective of the research was to list locations in the coastal zone with geomorphological potential and diversity of abiotic elements. This work's main objective is to carry out a survey of identification, characterization, inventory, quantification and synthetic mapping of the geomorphological heritage of the municipalities of Caiçara do Norte, São Bento do Norte, Pedra Grande -RN. Thus, this research will highlight the theoretical-methodological contributions with regard to geomorphological heritage and outline geoconservation strategies, in order to carry out a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the geomorphodiversity of the coastal zone of the municipalities of São Bento do Norte, Caiçara do Nortes, Pedra Grande-RN, in a conceptual approach to the development of natural history and geoforms in the area. In this study, based on the methodology used, four locations considered geomorphosites were identified. Methodologically, the research represents a qualitative approach, with the purpose of describing the locations, geomorphological elements and other components of the landscape. The quantitative assessment suits the application of values through four criteria, namely: the Scientific value (Vci), the Aesthetic value (Vest), the Tourist value (Vtur) and Use and management (VUG), which resulted in the identification of the four geomorphosites of high Scientific value (Vci) and/or Aesthetic value (Vest), with the identification of the geomorphosites Praia do Farol, Praia de Serafim, Praia de Enxu Cavaleiro and Praia do Marco. We thus highlight the importance of geoconservation strategies for these sites and the threats to this geoheritage. This information contributes to a more detailed description of this region, for which there are still few studies focused on this sector and with this theme, in which these studies can support planning and management measures, in addition to promoting geotourism in these locations.

É através da interação desta variedade de elementos inanimados que existirão as rochas, os minerais, os fósseis e outros depósitos superficiais que dão origem às paisagens e são suporte para a vida na Terra, estando este ambiente abiótico ameaçado de degradação. A partir disso, geólogos e geomorfólogos têm focado seus estudos na proteção do geopatrimônio, principalmente no contexto do patrimônio geomorfológico, por meio da geoconservação. Nesta pesquisa, o geopatrimônio fundamenta-se, como um conjunto de elementos de valores excepcionais, divididos em diferentes categorias de patrimônios com foco específico em algumas áreas, nomeadamente: patrimônio geológico; geomorfológico, hidrológico, pedológico, paleontológico e outros. No entanto, o patrimônio geomorfológico, objeto dessa pesquisa, caracteriza-se como um conjunto de formas de relevo às quais é atribuído algum tipo de valor, (científico e/ou estético, cultural, econômico, funcional e educativo). O objetivo da pesquisa foi elencar localidades da zona costeira com potencial geomorfológico e diversidade de elementos abióticos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal realizar o levantamento de identificação, caracterização, inventariação, quantificação e mapeamento síntese do Patrimônio geomorfológico dos municípios de Caiçara do Norte, São Bento do Norte, Pedra Grande -RN. Dessa forma, está pesquisa irá destacar as contribuições teórico-metodológicas no que diz respeito ao patrimônio geomorfológico e traçar as estratégias de geoconservação, a fim de realizar uma avaliação qualitativa e quantitativa da geomorfodiversidade da zona costeira dos municípios de São Bento do Norte, Caiçara do Nortes, Pedra Grande-RN, em uma abordagem conceitual para o desenvolvimento da história natural e das geoformas na área. Neste estudo, com base na metodologia utilizada, foram identificados quatro locais considerados geomorfossítios. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa representa uma abordagem qualitativa, com finalidade descritiva das localidades, elementos geomorfológicos e outros componentes da paisagem. A avaliação quantitativa adequa-se a aplicação de valores através de quatro critérios, nomeadamente: o valor Científico (Vci), o valor Estético (Vest), o valor Turístico (Vtur) e de Uso e gestão (VUG), que resultou na identificação dos quatro geomorfossítios de alto valor Científico (Vci) e/ou valor Estético (Vest), com a identificação dos geomorfossítios praia do Farol, praia de Serafim, praia de Enxu queimado e praia do Marco. Destacamos assim, a importância das estratégias de geoconservação destes sítios e as ameaças a este geopatrimônio.
