description The Arianópolis neighborhood in Caucaia - CE, located in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, has been the focus of real estate development and other significant modes of production of space and merchandise, so that a large part of its once natural areas, such as rivers, lagoons, river tributaries, green areas, as well as other important natural assets, are being intensively suppressed, a fact that has placed these environments in a state of complex vulnerability and environmental instability. Thus, the main objective of this research is to carry out an analysis of the socio-environmental issue of the Arianópolis neighborhood, in Caucaia - CE, from the perspective of the use and deforestation of urban green areas, considering the floristic composition, the climate and the perception of the local population. In order to carry this out, methodological steps were necessary, beginning with readings on the subject, the collection of data via Google Earth Pro satellite images, the analysis of data and maps made available by Fundação Cearense de Meteorologia e Recursos Hídricos (FUNCEME), Mapbiomas, Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), studies of data on environmental disasters, based on readings of the United Nations Framework Report on Climate Change. One (1) automatic thermohygrometer was also installed in the Arianópolis neighborhood in a private space (house), in an area of the neighborhood with a lot of landscape changes and therefore little vegetation, in order to analyze the thermal sensation of this environment. Finally, questionnaires were administered to survey the perception of Arianópolis residents about green areas and the lack of them, as well as landscape changes, and the diversity of flora species present in the neighborhood, comparing and distinguishing them from the symbolic species of the semi-arid region. Of the species identified by the community in the neighborhood 10 years ago, more than half were caatinga trees, which is why the problem of the capitalist mode of production in relation to the sustainability of biomes is evident.

O bairro Arianópolis em Caucaia – CE, situado na região metropolitana de Fortaleza, tem sido foco de vislumbres imobiliários e outros significativos modos de produção do espaço e de mercadoria, de forma que grande parte das suas áreas, outrora naturais, como rios, lagoas, afluentes de rios, áreas verdes, além de outros importantes bens naturais, estão sendo suprimidos de forma intensa, fato que tem colocado estes ambientes em estado de complexas vulnerabilidades e instabilidades ambientais. Assim, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal realizar uma análise sobre a questão socioambiental do bairro Arianópolis, em Caucaia – CE, a partir da perspectiva do uso e desmatamento das áreas verdes urbanas, considerando a composição florística, o clima e a percepção da população local. Para realização desta, foram necessárias etapas metodológicas, tendo início com as leituras sobre o tema, a coleta de dados via imagens de satélite Google Earth Pro, a análise de dados e mapas disponibilizados pela Fundação Cearense de Meteorologia e Recursos Hídricos (FUNCEME), Mapbiomas, Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), estudos dos dados sobre os desastres ambientais, tendo como base, leituras do relatório do quadro das Nações Unidas sobre Mudanças Climáticas. Realizou-se também a instalação de 1 (um) termohigrômetro automático no bairro Arianópolis em espaço privado (casa), em uma área do bairro com elevadas modificações paisagísticas, logo, com pouca quantidade de vegetação, para a análise da sensação térmica desse ambiente. Por fim, foram aplicados questionários para levantamento da percepção dos moradores do Arianópolis sobre as áreas verdes e a ausência dessas, bem como as mudanças de paisagens, e a diversidade de espécies da flora presentes no bairro, comparandoas e distinguindo-as das espécies símbolo do semiárido.
