Resumo:This dissertation looks at the intensification of work caused by the adoption of teleworking in the banking sector. This type of work originated in the mid-1970s. However, it is in the pandemic scenario caused by COVID-19 that it has gained prominence by contributing to the necessary social isolation, as it is this type of flexible and decentralized work, carried out remotely by telematic means. In this research I sought to answer the following question: how does teleworking, widely used in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, intensify the work of bank technicians who work under this regime? The hypothesis was that teleworking intensifies the working hours of bank technicians by efficiently combining the flexibilization of working space and time with a specific type of worker, the performance subject. In this sense, the general objective of this research was to analyze how teleworking, widely used in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, intensifies the work of bank technicians who work under this modality, within the scope of Caixa Econômica Federal, in the city of Natal/RN, in the period from 2020 to 2021. This was a qualitative investigation, characterized as a case study which made use of three interdependent methodological procedures. These were bibliographical research, semi-structured interviews to collect primary data and, finally, qualitative analysis of the data collected. As a result, confirming the hypothesis, it was observed that teleworking intensifies the working hours of bank technicians.
