Resumo:This research sought to investigate how the process of implementing the Sistema Integrado de Patrimônio, Administração e Contratos in the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Norte happened. Its concern resides in answering how the extent users' acceptance of the new available technology interferes with the process of implementing the system itself, observing especially how the user's relationship with the new resource can affect the institution's objective of improving its control and management processes. This is a descriptive study, classified according to its procedures as a case study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The quantitative approach was fed by applying a questionnaire and the qualitative approach by participant observation. Through the results, it is possible to infer that the insecurity generated by the lack of focal points within the management units, or even by the absence of a user assistance team, can result in secondary problems, such as delays on inserting data into the system or in the need to offer several training courses to the same audience and on the same module.
