Resumo:Discussions involving the theory of objectification have taken place within the academic context through research. In this sense, within this perspective, this research entitled ―Volume and capacity measurements: a study on the capture, distribution and use of water in the Macau-RN Region‖, aims to implement a teaching and learning module on spatial geometry – measurements of volume and capacities – contextualized in the theme of collection, distribution and use of drinking water in Macau. To this end, theoretical discussions were triggered focusing on three categories. The first, climate, rain and rivers, is conceived in discussions by Alves; Rock; Carvalho (2011). The second category arises from a debate involving the Theory of Objectification. In this, in turn, we anchor the guidelines in Lorenzato (1995), Peres (1991), Menezes, Fonseca and Pedreira (2020) and Pavanelo (1993). The third category, Spatial Geometry Topic, we based the discussion on Silva et al. (2014), Paraizo (2012) and Ritter (2011). Therefore, it is worth mentioning that we based our investigation on the exploration of written documentary sources (newspapers, books on the history of the city and region), iconographic sources (photos and images) and oral sources (testimonies from agents directly involved in the capture and distribution process). from water). Methodologically, the research was constituted, from a qualitative approach perspective, with an intervention study in a 3rd grade high school class with activities focused on the topic of spatial geometry for calculating volumes, in order to generate processes of awareness, because we opted for the theory of objectification, authored by researcher and educator Luiz Radford. In this sense, the region in which the study was carried out is located in an area where rain occurs few times during the year. Given the applicability of the activities in this study, an educational product was generated consisting of a paradidactic book entitled ―Memories of the Semi-Arid Boy‖ which describes the day-to-day experiences of a resident of the region facing the lack of water. In general terms, this production proposes readings about the region, as well as developing activities whose theme revolves around the capture, distribution, storage and use of Water, in a reflection on the importance of managing water resources. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the theory of objectification (OT) participates in several instances of the project: in the preparation of tasks, in classroom teaching, in the data collection phase and in the data processing process.
