The construction methodology was mentioned, in which market research was conducted to determine the manufacturing cost, and tests were performed with the already-made distiller to obtain its performance and the volume distilled in three main configurations: the conventional one, with the addition of some crushed stones, and with cooling of the glass covers using water. Of the three configurations, the one that showed the highest performance and the greatest volume distilled was the one that used water-based panel cooling, approximately 38.60% and 4.275 liters, respectively. Este trabalho foi realizado com o intuito de desenvolver uma tecnologia de baixo custo para alcançar comunidades atingidas pela falta de água potável e própria para consumo doméstico – o destilador solar com cobertura móvel. São apresentados os processos de fabricação, montagem e operação do destilador solar, que tem como principal característica sua boa relação custo-benefício. Os ensaios realizados demonstraram a significativa viabilidade de uso do destilador solar para a obtenção de água destilada. O sistema de destilador foi estudado para se obter o rendimento e o volume destilado em três principais configurações: a convencional; com adição de algumas pedras e com resfriamento dos vitrais utilizando água.
