| Summary: | This work was thoroughly prepared with the aim of developing low-cost
technology to reach communities affected by the lack of safe and suitable water
for household consumption - the solar distiller with a movable cover. The
construction methodology was mentioned, in which market research was
conducted to determine the manufacturing cost, and tests were performed with
the already-made distiller to obtain its performance and the volume distilled in
three main configurations: the conventional one, with the addition of some
crushed stones, and with cooling of the glass covers using water. Of the three
configurations, the one that showed the highest performance and the greatest
volume distilled was the one that used water-based panel cooling, approximately
38.60% and 4.275 liters, respectively. |
