Resumo:The present research aims to reflect on the teacher's workload and its relationship with planning conditions in the daily school life of the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante/RN. The theme arose from a non-mandatory internship experience in early childhood education at a CMEI in São Gonçalo. Observing the lack of time and space for teachers to engage in planning within their working hours, it is evident that this reality has significant impacts on teaching practices, as well as neglecting the importance of planning for a meaningful teaching and learning process. The research was conducted qualitatively through literature review and document analysis, based on legislation and processes provided by the Union of Public Education Workers of RN. This work emphasized the importance of this theme as fundamental elements for quality education, considering the conditions of teaching work and the relevance of definitively ensuring time for planning within the workday.
