Resumo:This study aims to identify the most suitable tools to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control in a small Distribution Center in the food sector in Natal, RN. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data obtained through direct observation of the logistics and dispatch department's daily operations, along with interviews with the managers of these areas. The study identified recent initiatives to improve the goods receiving and dispatch processes; however, it was found that these activities could be enhanced to achieve greater accuracy between physical inventory and the system, as well as a reduction in the time spent on processes. In light of these findings, the need to better understand the inventory management process and propose improvements in outcomes became evident. To achieve this goal, the study employs tools from Material Resources Management, aiming to contribute to the enhancement of current practices and make them more efficient. In conclusion, the study anticipates providing solutions that refine inventory control and goods management in the Distribution Center, fostering greater efficiency and satisfactory results.
