Resumo:This course completion work addresses Social Work in health, in the particularity of professional practice in the Kidney Transplant Unit of the Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes (HUOL). The research analyzes the demands and challenges of Social Services from the perspective of realizing the rights of people with chronic renal failure. The methodological path was based on studies and analyzes carried out during the mandatory curricular internship I, in Social Service in 2021, whose contribution was made through the production of the field diary, at the same time based on the theoretical-methodological dimension through bibliographic and documentary research, using the dialectical-critical method as a guide for investigation and analysis. To support this study, health policy in Brazil was proven, its advances and setbacks under the impact of neoliberalism and how this reconfigures the professional practice of social workers, bringing new demands and challenges to the realization of rights for users with renal failure at the HUOL Kidney Transplant Unit. We conclude that the dismantling of social policies influenced by neoliberalism brings new demands to Social Service and imposes great challenges on social workers in their professional practice, as part of the interprofessional kidney transplant team, to implement the social rights necessary for assisted users. From a vision of health that encompasses the full well being of the individual, encompassing the physical, mental and social aspects, Social Services operates from the perspective of realizing rights related to social security, despite the challenges arising from scarce resources for social security. its implementation, in a neoliberal context.
