METHODS: The research method involved the following databases: PubMed, SciELO and Embase. The combination of Medical Subject Headings terms and keywords were: (Self-Sampling OR HPV Self-Sampling OR Self-Collection) AND (HIV OR Human Immunodeficiency Virus) AND "Uterine Cervical Neoplasms"[Mesh]. Article inclusion and exclusion criteria were pre-defined. RESULTS: The methodology for evaluating the acceptability of self-collection was extracted from each study, combined with the patients' clinical data. The sensitivity, specificity and agreement performance of self-collection could be analyzed. CONCLUSION: The HPV self-collection study proved to be widely acceptable and preferable for women living with HIV, compared to the conventional Pap smear test in a clinical setting. OBJETIVO: Avaliar, a nível global, a aceitabilidade da autocoleta cérvico vaginal entre mulheres que convivem com HIV, considerando o seu alto risco de infecção ao HPV e a sua alta suscetibilidade ao desenvolvimento de câncer cervical. MÉTODOS: A pesquisa envolveu as seguintes bases de dados: PubMed, SciELO e Embase, reunindo artigos dos últimos 5 anos. A combinação dos termos de Medical Subject Headings e palavras-chave foram: (Self-Sampling OR HPV Self-Sampling OR Self-Collection) AND (HIV OR Human Immunodeficiency Virus) AND "Uterine Cervical Neoplasms"[Mesh]. RESULTADOS: A partir dos 121 artigos encontrados, 5 artigos foram selecionados para continuidade desta revisão.
