A case study was therefore carried out to plan the acquisition and installation of the new CT scanner, applying the specific needs and objectives outlined by the institution in order to update the hospital's technological park, thereby employing new technologies on the market as a way of benefiting the equipment's operating team and patients. The management of hospital medical equipment carried out by the clinical engineering sector was explored, analyzing the information registered and researched that is necessary for the acquisition of the device and the standards and resolutions to be applied at each stage of the process. Obtaining for the school hospital a history of the documentation of all the fundamental stages for this change of equipment, which can be used for other devices with the same problem, thus allowing improvements and technological advances, offering benefits to patients and growth to the hospital. O projeto de substituição do tomógrafo do Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes teve início após conhecimento através da empresa contratante que o equipamento entraria no fim de ciclo de vida, chamado de end of life, onde a reposição de peças e manutenções seria algo obsoleto para a máquina. Assim, foi realizado um estudo de caso para o planejamento da aquisição e instalação do novo tomógrafo, aplicando as necessidades específicas e objetivos traçados pela instituição a fim de atualizar o parque tecnológico do hospital, com isso empregar novas tecnologias existentes no mercado como uma forma de beneficiar a equipe operante do equipamento e os pacientes. Foi explorado o gerenciamento de equipamentos médico hospitalares realizado pelo setor de engenharia clínica, analisando as informações cadastradas e pesquisadas que são necessárias para aquisição do dispositivo e as normas e resoluções a serem aplicadas em cada etapa do processo.
