description The study aims to map and identify adverse events related to infusion therapy in cancer patients receiving palliative care. This is a Scoping Review designed in accordance with the JBI Reviewer Manual and under the criteria of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. The searches took place in November, in the databases: Scopus, Web of Science, PUBMED, SccienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The selection of studies followed the eligibility criteria: complete studies available in the databases that address adverse events related to infusion therapy in cancer patients receiving palliative care and that are available in full electronically were included. And abstracts, editorials, correspondence, book chapters and expert opinions were excluded. From the search in the databases, 14,912 studies were found, of which 216 duplicates were found, 14,688 were excluded for not meeting the eligibility criteria, and after adopting the inclusion criteria, 76 studies were selected, and 9 full studies analyzed for the final sample. When evaluating the main adverse events related to infusion therapy, it was evident that the main one was “local pain”, followed by edema. The type of catheter most mentioned in the studies was the non-needled catheter. With this, the main problems related to care related to infusion therapy in cancer patients in palliative care became clear. Thus, this study provides evidence of the main gaps relating to the study in question, so that the data obtained will serve as a basis for research with other methodological designs, which aim to evaluate the main ways to alleviate these circumstances, as well as, generate an improvement in the quality of care for these patients.

O estudo objetiva mapear e identificar os eventos adversos relacionados a terapia infusional em pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de uma Revisão de Escopo delineada em conformidade com o Manual do Revisor do JBI e sob os critérios do Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews. As buscas ocorreram no mês de novembro, nas bases de dados: Scopus, Web of Science, PUBMED, SccienceDirect, e no Google Acadêmico. Para a seleção dos estudos seguiu os critérios de elegibilidade: foram incluídos estudos completos disponíveis nas bases de dados e que abordem os eventos adversos relacionados à terapia infusional em pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos e que estejam disponíveis na íntegra por meio eletrônico. E foram excluídos os resumos, editoriais, correspondências, capítulos de livros e opinião de especialistas. A partir da busca nas bases de dados, foram encontrados 14.912 estudos, sendo que deste total, foram encontrados 216 duplicados, 14.688 excluídos por não responder os critérios de elegibilidade, e após a adoção dos critérios de inclusão, foram selecionados 76 estudos, e 9 estudos completos analisados para a amostra final. Ao avaliar os principais eventos adversos relacionados a terapia infusional, evidenciou-se que o principal deste foi a “dor local”, seguida de edema. O tipo de cateter mais mencionado nos estudos foi o cateter não agulhado. Com isso, ficou claro os principais problemas relacionados aos cuidados relacionados a terapia infusional em pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos.
