Resumo:To compare the effect of telehealth through the use of a health application with information about the puerperal period on the satisfaction and quality of life of women in the postpartum period. Methods: This was a two-tailed, blind, randomized clinical trial with postpartum women admitted to the shared accommodation at the Hospital Universitário Ana Bezerra, over 18 years of age, living in the Trairi/Potengi-RN region who had access to mobile internet. Identification data, clinical history, quality of life through the WHOQOL-bref, usability of the application through the System Usability Scale and the Patient Global Impression of Improvement were collected. The participants were divided into a control group (Gac), which remained without using the application, and an intervention group (GTele), which received the application prototype. Up to the 45th day postpartum, participants were reevaluated. Descriptive analysis was performed and comparison between groups using the Mann-Whitney test, considering a significance level of 4 p<0.05. Results: 29 participants were evaluated, 14 participants from Gac and 15 from GTele, with 8 participants from both groups responding to the follow-up. There was no statistical difference between the groups in the variables analyzed. Gac presented higher quality of life reassessment scores compared to GTele. SUS was rated by participants as excellent. The responses to the PGI-I did not notice any change. Conclusion: The effect of telehealth on improving the quality of life of the participants was not perceived. However, usability was satisfactory.
