| Resumo: | This paper looks at the process of triggering response actions in municipalities in the Brazilian northeastern semi-arid region, in particular the municipality of Lagoa de Pedras/RN. From this, we sought to understand the mechanisms used to deal with Drought and Drought through the response actions through the platforms available through the Municipal Civil Defense. To meet the objective, the study adopted a qualitative approach, based on data from the Drought Monitor, documentary research and semi-structured interviews. With rising temperatures and a reduction in rainfall over the years, droughts have directly affected the supply of people living in the areas affected by these phenomena, mainly leading to water shortages in the region. Finally, it was noted that the municipality was not effective in adopting its policies and using the tools available through Civil Defense to mitigate the drought during the period it was being hit by the natural disaster. |
