Resumo: | We present the study of a low-cost solar dryer coated with insulating material on the
sides and bottom, with EPS. To test the dryer, a drying experiment was carried out
with a load of six dried coconuts. The choice of Coconut was made due to the fact
that it is a cheap fruit and that from it it is possible to generate by-products with its
drying. The coconuts were cut into several small pieces, weighed on a scale
registering 1078.8 g and then spread inside the dryer. 3 reference samples were
chosen and placed at the inlet, middle and outlet of the dryer. The rehearsal took
place 2 days. The 1st day of drying had to be interrupted due to rain. The
continuation of the test took place the next day. The total dough after drying reached
700 g and the drying efficiency was 81.66% leaving the coconut pieces with a
pleasant texture, a good aroma and a pleasant taste. |
