This is a theoretical-reflective study, constructed from a literature review of an exploratory nature with a qualitative approach.This research has reflected on studies on the importance of hospital managers. In this way, it aims to discuss reflections and behaviors exposed - as a literature review - regarding patient safety in this context from the manager's perspective. To this end, it was important to review studies on hospital administration. In a didactic way, the TCC is divided into three main discussions: 1) What were the main strategies for patient safety from the manager's point of view? 2) What were the main difficulties faced? 3. what steps should be taken to improve hospital planning? It was possible to observe that, although there are still obstacles to planning, there are ways with technology to achieve better organization. No cenário pandêmico em que o Brasil esteve nos últimos anos, acompanhando o panorama mundial, a sociedade em geral – que não estava envolvida diretamente com a área da saúde – começou a prestar atenção na organização dos hospitais e das equipes por meio das notícias sobre a COVID-19. Trata-se de um estudo teórico-reflexivo, construído a partir de revisão de literatura de natureza exploratória com abordagem qualitativa. Esta pesquisa refletiu sobre a atuação do gestor hospitalar na segurança do paciente no âmbito nacional, com destaque para a pandemia de COVID-19. Para isso, foram abordadas três grandes discussões, são elas: 1. Quais eram as principais estratégias pensadas para a segurança do paciente pela visão do gestor? 2. Quais as principais dificuldades enfrentadas? 3. Quais caminhos devem ser seguidos para melhorar o planejamento hospitalar?
