Descrição
Resumo:The present study is an epidemiological, cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study with a quantitative approach, which aims to analyze the performance of management for patient safety from the perspective of professionals who work in a Maternity Hospital located in the municipality of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil in the year 2023. The sample was composed of 253 health professionals, through self-application of the form “Hospital Safety Culture E-Questionnaire”, which consists of the translated version and adapted for Brazil of the “Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture” (HSOPSC) instrument. The results allowed us to characterize the sample and identify that it is a relatively recent care team that has undergone several changes, in addition to classifying the dimension “Expectations and actions of management/supervision of the unit/service that favor safety” as a safety indicator weak patient, as well as the dimension “Hospital management support for patient safety”. It is concluded that there is a very large deficit when it comes to hospital management support for the construction of a patient safety culture, however the responsibility is not just that of management, it is necessary to involve the management of the units, hospital management and all employees in the creation, implementation and reinforcement of feelings, values, behaviors, attitudes and actions that promote a positive culture.
