Resumo:To identify factors related to absenteeism among nursing professionals at a teaching hospital. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative and documental approach, carried out from a survey of data from professionals who make up the nursing team of a university hospital, located in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. The findings of this study characterize sickness absenteeism among nursing professionals, from May 2019 to October 2022. Data from 66 professionals were analyzed, among the results, it was possible to highlight the sociodemographic profile related to employee absenteeism, with a majority of women, mean age between 30 and 35 years, night shift nurses, with only one contract and with less than 5 years working in the company. It is observed that absenteeism among the nursing class is a complex phenomenon, requiring more research in the area, in order to provide better quality of life and better working conditions.
