Resumo:Objective: To report on the experience of an online course for teachers focusing on vocal health and well-being, and to assess their satisfaction with the course. Method: Teachers from all educational levels participated in this study. The UFRN Voice Laboratory and the institution were promoted on social media. Before and after the course, all participating teachers responded to the Screening index for voice disorder (SIVD) protocol to screen for dysphonia. The course consisted of five modules of educational content, recorded on video. Upon completion of the course, the teachers were asked to fill out a satisfaction questionnaire. The data on the study sample, the risk of dysphonia, and satisfaction with the course were analyzed both descriptively and qualitatively. Results: A total of 51 individuals agreed to participate. It was observed that the first two modules were the most accessed, followed by the final module on communication strategies and vocal warm-up. The SIVD protocol revealed that the score before the course was higher compared to the end of the course. Participants expressed satisfaction with the course, agreeing that it was useful, relevant, well-organized, and well-planned, with clear presentations. All the modules were rated between satisfactory and excellent. Prior to the course, participants reported a poor level of knowledge. However, an improvement was observed afterwards. Conclusion: The course was deemed satisfactory by the teachers, as it enhanced their knowledge about vocal health and communication. While teachers are at risk of dysphonia, the course did not effectively reduce this risk.
