Resumo:Ergonomics, in its various areas of study, has been concerned with improving user interaction with the artifacts of daily life. As such, it is closely related to the praxis of Design, which designs artifacts and, in order to do so, must take into account not only factors related to the practical functions of products, but also cognitive and emotional ones. These functions are related to a new way of consuming and using objects that, in addition to working well, need to have well-established aesthetic-symbolic functions. However, when it comes to assistive technology, there is still a prevalence of projects that highlight only practical aspects, without taking into account the negative emotions and stigma attributed to these objects, which can lead to a lack of connection and identification between user and artifact. Considering this design and marketing gap, this work aims to contribute to the improvement and better use of the wheelchair by developing accessories and/or small modifications that provide users with greater comfort, both physically and emotionally. For the conception of this project, the methodology chosen is the Project Development Guidance, for which some of the tools proposed by Pazmino were selected - such as project requirements, visual panel, refining/alteration, 3D model, prototyping, management analysis and semantic differential - as well as the use of the user-capacity toolkit. The application of these tools in conjunction with the method enabled the development of an adhesive kit for protection and safety, based on protecting both the structure and the user, with a focus also on customizing the product, along with a proposal for a handrim.
