Resumo:The present research proposes to analyze the discourse of the newspapers Tribuna do Norte and Novo Notícias in articles published on their respective online news portals, having as its subject the attacks orchestrated by criminal factions in RN, which took place in March 2023, and the announcement of third edition of the Growth Acceleration Program (GAP-3), which took place in August 2023. To this end, a time frame was carried out to select the subjects investigated. From the period between March 14 and 20, 2023, two articles from each newspaper were chosen about attacks by criminal factions. Regarding the announcement of GAP-3, two news items from each online portal were selected between the 11th and 17th of August 2023. In addition to these themes, the present investigation proposes the analysis of a distinct subject, serving as a neutral reference, with the purpose to identify a rapprochement between the discourses of these news outlets. In this sense, one piece of news from each newspaper was chosen for analysis about América/RN's relegation to Series D of the Brazilian Football (soccer) Championship, which took place in August 2023, totaling ten articles investigated in this research. This monograph uses French Discourse Analysis (Orlandi, 1999; Pêcheux, 1995) and Althusser's theory (1980) on the State's Ideological Apparatus, seeking to identify the ideology and possible political-economic bias of the owners of these newspapers, highlighting the conflict between public and private interests.
