The subject of drugs of abuse is a sensitive one, and encompasses a range of different opinions. However, the facts are essential for a complete understanding of the subject and its consequences on public health and the human body. Thus, this study aims to analyze the profile of drug seizures in the state of Rio Grande do Norte from January to July 2022, and to verify its possible impacts on the society of Rio Grande do Norte. The results were obtained through the analysis of 1553 expert reports, resulting in the number of 1509 seizures of illicit substances in the period studied, with data such as the public security organs, date of seizure, city, quantity of different materials seized, physical characteristics of the material, weight, result of the report, and adulterants. Thus, from a scientific point of view, it was possible to trace which substances were possibly the most harmful to users, the problems related to the amounts seized, and the result of the circulation of substances on the streets. The study pointed to cocaine as the most seized substance in units, followed by marijuana and hallucinogens (NBOH and MDA). Among the most seized contaminants are caffeine and tetracaine, which differs from the global standard dated in 2023. Thus, Rio Grande do Norte is somewhat different from global and national panoramas, but with high numbers of seizures referring to the strong work of public safety to ensure the health and well-being of the population.

O transtorno relacionado ao uso e abuso de substâncias é uma doença mental que acomete parte da população mundial. O entendimento dos princípios ativos, locais de apreensão e presença de adulterantes nas substâncias de abuso pode facilitar o enfrentamento ao tráfico e ao acesso dos indivíduos de drogas. Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o perfil de apreensão de drogas no Estado do Rio Grande do Norte no período de janeiro a julho de 2022. Os resultados foram obtidos através da análise de 1553 laudos periciais, resultando no número de 1509 apreensões de substância ilícitas, com dados como o órgão apreensor, data da apreensão, cidade, quantidade de diferentes materiais apreendidos, característica física do material, peso, resultado do laudo, e adulterantes. O estudo apontou a cocaína como a substância mais apreendida em unidades, seguida da maconha e dos alucinógenos. Entre os contaminantes mais apreendidos estão a cafeína e a tetracaína. O número de apreensões ilustra um pico no mês de março e o domingo foi o dia com o menor número de apreensões. O órgão de segurança pública responsável pelo maior número de apreensões foi a Polícia Civil, com um total de 87,14% do total de apreensões. Por fim, o mapeamento das apreensões pelo Estado do RN evidencia Mossoró, Natal e região metropolitana como os locais com maior incidência de apreensões de substâncias ilícitas.
