Resumo:The development of Post Intensive Care Syndrome is characterized by physical, cognitive and/or psychological dysfunctions. In this sense, this study brings factors associated with individuals and complex care in the ICU that corroborate their development. Therefore, we can see the influence of the profile that covers the clinical aspect (length of stay, comorbidities, use of invasive mechanical ventilation and sedation) and sociodemographic (age, education level, work situation, religion, marital status, origin) of the population. This study aimed to identify and describe the sociodemographic and clinical profile of individuals with characteristics of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome as a support for nursing practice in care and rehabilitation. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The collection took place from January to June 2023, with the active search for individuals who had characteristics of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome. The final sample included 131 individuals with characteristics of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome, distributed across two intensive care reference institutions in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. In this study, it is noted that the profile of the individual with Post-Intensive Care Syndrome has sociodemographic characteristics, being mostly male, having completed high school, retired, aged 50 years or over and single. Finally, it is possible to identify the sociodemographic and clinical profile of participants with characteristics of Post-Intensive Care Syndrome, highlighting and reinforcing the findings described in international and national literature.
