The group took place in a meeting during the month of November 2023, guided by a guide script with triggering questions. The discussions were audio-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using thematic content analysis. Results: Nurses understand HIV serodifference; however, they perceive that skills and competencies to deal with this situation are still deficient in the context of care. The situation of HIV serodifference was associated with specific user groups, such as pregnant women and their partners, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and the elderly, emphasizing the importance of nurses being prepared to address the demands of HIV serodifference. Final considerations: The perceptions highlight that HIV serodifference is increasingly present in the routine of primary health care nurses and manifests in different user groups, underscoring the importance of fostering professional preparation at the knowledge level. Objetivo: conhecer a percepção de enfermeiros da Atenção Primária à Saúde sobre a sorodiferença ao HIV. Método: estudo qualitativo, desenvolvido com 13 enfermeiros da Atenção Primária à Saúde do município de Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, por meio da técnica de grupo focal. O grupo ocorreu em um encontro no período do mês de novembro de 2023, norteado por um roteiro guia com questionamentos disparadores. As falas foram áudio gravadas, transcritas e analisadas segundo a análise de conteúdo temática. Resultados: Os enfermeiros entendem a sorodiferença ao HIV, porém percebem que no contexto do atendimento, as habilidades e competências para lidar com esta situação ainda são deficientes. Houve associada à situação da sorodiferença alguns grupos de usuários, como gestantes e seus parceiros, público LGBTQIA+, idosos, sendo ainda reforçada a importância de o enfermeiro estar preparado para lidar com as demandas da sorodiferença ao HIV.
