Resumo:Objective: To identify the success rate of orosinusal communications closure using the bichat adipose body technique. Material and Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature that based on a search in Pubmed, Scielo, Web of Science, ScienceDirect databases, and the Virtual Health Library (VHL) in November 2023. Inclusion criteria were publications between 2013 and 2023, clinical trials, cohort studies, case reports, case series and articles written in English, Portuguese or Spanish. The exclusion criteria included duplicate articles, literature reviews, systematic reviews, narrative reviews and records that deviating from the theme. All articles were retrieved and evaluated using the Rayyan platform and cataloged by Google Sheets. Results: Final sample with 37 articles, including 244 patients. 53.1% male and 46.8% female, ranging in age from 13 to 84 years. The sample consisted of 246 orosinusal communications, whose main etiology was tooth extraction (52.6%). Large-sized communications were more prevalent, accounting for 46.8%, as well as chronic communications at 95.3%. The closing using bichat adipose body alone without combining with other techniques is equivalent to 85.8%. Finally, the success rate found for orosinusal communications closure using the bichat adipose body technique was 98.3%. Final considerations: The closure of orosinusal communications using the bichat adipose body technique demonstrated a high success rate in various clinical situations.
