Tourism was among the economic sectors most impacted by the pandemic, due to restrictions on the movement of people and the temporary closure of commerce and non-essential services. Therefore, the present research aimed to measure the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic, from 2020 to 2022, on the labor market in the tourism sector in the municipality of Santa Cruz, an important regional destination for religious tourism in Rio Grande do Norte. The research is exploratory in nature, with a quantitative analysis approach. The main sources of information explored in the research were the General Register of Employment and Unemployment (Caged) and the Annual List of Social Information (Rais), from the Ministry of Economy, and the Sebrae Business Panel database. The results allow us to state that companies in the accommodation sector, travel agencies and restaurants generate a low number of formal jobs in Santa Cruz and with the pandemic, restaurant and similar companies were those that showed the greatest loss of jobs, especially in the year 2021. O ano de 2020 presenciou o início da pandemia de covid-19, responsável por uma das maiores crises sanitária, econômica e social que o mundo já enfrentou. O turismo esteve entre os setores econômicos mais impactados pela pandemia, devido às restrições de circulação de pessoas e ao fechamento temporário do comércio e de serviços não essenciais. Desta forma, a presente pesquisa teve por objetivo dimensionar os impactos da pandemia de covid-19, de 2020 a 2022, no mercado de trabalho do setor de turismo no município de Santa Cruz, importante destino regional de turismo religioso do Rio Grande do Norte. A pesquisa é de natureza exploratória, com uma abordagem de análise quantitativa. As principais fontes de informação exploradas na pesquisa foram o Cadastro Geral de Empregos e Desempregos (Caged) e a Relação Anual de Informações Sociais (Rais), do Ministério da Economia, e o banco de dados do Painel de Empresas do DataSebrae.
