Resumo:It addresses the relationship between the elderly and the existing means of communication, taking into account the changes arising from technological developments, which are increasingly inserted in their daily lives. It highlights the need to carry out studies aimed at this type of user, in order to present difficulties that they face in the use of the current communications media. It aims to identify the means of communication used by the elderly as a way of acquiring information and specifying their preferences and difficulties in using them. The methodology used is exploratory and descriptive research, considering that information was obtained through the application of questionnaires and random interviews with elderly individuals from 60 years of age in various locations in the city of Natal / RN. It was found that the media most used by the elderly are television and radio and in relation to the digital age, 77% of respondents have difficulties in obtaining information from the Internet, it is noticed that all elderly people understand the need of people are well informed, using all the means that are available, such as: newspapers, TVs, social networks, the various media
