Resumo:Dental trauma has a high prevalence in the global population, with a greater presence in school-age children. The most clinically common types of dental trauma are those involving hard tooth tissue such as fracture of enamel and dentin without pulp exposure. Treatments for these cases involve fragment gluing and composite resin restoration. This work presents a clinical case involving a young 8-year-old patient, where esthetic rehabilitation of the fractured element involving enamel and dentin was carried out. Direct composite resin restoration with the aid of a palatal guide was the treatment of choice for the case due to the loss of the natural fractured fragment. Restorative rehabilitation using composite resin returned form, function and esthetic harmony to the patient's smile. The case illustrates the importance of the dental surgeon's knowledge regarding the accurate diagnosis of dental trauma and preparation for the appropriate management of these cases.
