Objective: This study aimed to verify whether a patient with dentin hypersensitivity and enamel cracks would be pain-free 4 after the enamel shielding procedure in a single session (with neural and occlusive agents) and whether she would remain pain-free after the base whitening procedure. of 37% carbamide peroxide. Methodology: After clinical diagnosis, vestibular enamel was observed to be very translucent, with many cracks and showing high permeability. After these findings and associated with the reported clinical history, the diagnosis of a case of hypersensitivity was made. A desensitizing procedure was carried out, in a single session, called enamel shielding, using agents with neural and occlusive action and sequentially, with its success in the symptoms, whitening was carried out. Result: The patient reported that sensitivity had been eliminated with the desensitizing treatment (enamel shielding), allowing her to carry out daily activities, such as drinking cold things and exposing herself to cold air, without pain, confirming the success of the protocol for this case of hypersensitivity. As for the whitening carried out after desensitization, there was once again an absence of pain with the whitening agent used, but it left something to be desired in terms of satisfaction regarding the whitening efficiency. Only a few teeth changed color and even then, only one shade on the Vita Classical Scale, when compared to the initial color. Conclusion: enamel shielding fulfilled its role in terms of removing pain with the patient returning to previously impossible daily activities (such as eating food at different temperatures), allowing for a painless whitening procedure to be carried out, but without much success in changing the color achieved.

A hipersensibilidade é uma doença que acomete grande parte da população que, por muitas vezes, também almejam uma melhor estética dos dentes através do clareamento e não alcançam seu objetivo devido sua condição sintomática. Objetivo: Este trabalho objetivou verificar se uma paciente com hipersensibilidade dentinária e trincas no esmalte, ficaria sem dor após o procedimento de blindagem do esmalte em sessão única (com agentes neurais e oclusivos) e ainda se continuaria sem dor após o procedimento de clareamento a base de peróxido de carbamida a 37%. Metodologia: Após o diagnóstico clínico, foi observado esmalte vestibular bastante translúcido, com muitas trincas e apresentando alta permeabilidade. Após estes achados e associado a história clínica relatada, fechouse o diagnóstico de um caso de hipersensibilidade. Foi realizado um procedimento dessensibilizante, em sessão única, intitulado de blindagem do esmalte, utilizando agentes de ação neural e oclusiva e sequencialmente, com o sucesso do mesmo na sintomatologia, realizado o clareamento. Resultado: A paciente relatou ter havido eliminação da sensibilidade com o tratamento dessensibilizante (blindagem do esmalte), propiciando a realização das atividades cotidianas, como tomar coisas geladas e se expor ao ar frio, sem dor, confirmando o sucesso do protocolo para este caso de hipersensibilidade. Quanto ao clareamento realizado após a dessensibilização, observou-se mais uma vez ausência de dor com o clareador utilizado, porém deixou a desejar na satisfação com relação a eficiência clareadora. Apenas alguns dentes mudaram de cor e ainda assim, somente um tom na Escala Vita Classical, quando comparado a cor inicial.
