Resumo:For a concrete and safe administration of vaccines, it is necessary to adopt measures that allow standardized, systematized practices and anchored in technical-scientific perspectives. In this context, the use of standard operating procedures allows complete effectiveness, efficiency and safety in the preparation and administration of these components belonging to human health, minimizing the occurrence of adverse and possible serious events. Such protocols are in line with the National Patient Safety Program. In this context, the present study aimed to construct and validate the content of twenty-one standard operating procedures with the perspective of implementation in a vaccination room of a regional hospital in Rio Grande do Norte. This study, with a quantitative data processing and analysis nature, is based on Pasquali's psychometric framework developed according to the following steps: 1) search for current theoretical frameworks to support the construction of protocols; 2) construction of twenty-one standard operating procedures related to the vaccines that make up the Ministry of Health's basic vaccination calendar, as well as emergency vaccines against COVID-19; 3) development of a content validation instrument following the adaptation of Pasquali's psychometrics; and 4) validation process of the protocols constructed through the analysis of five judges/experts in the method and/or area of immunization. The return of the data found, through a step carried out using the validation instrument, demonstrated that the protocols were considered valid, considering that, to be considered valid, the average obtained for each item individually had to be greater than 0, 80 and the content validity index above 0.80. Therefore, a level of agreement between 0.92 and 1 average was presented and the calculation of the content validity index above 0.80, confirming the validity of the protocols. The process involved in the construction and validation of protocols highlighted the need for documents that guide safe vaccine administration practices, considerably reducing the occurrence of adverse and serious events. It is necessary to continue advancing research and periodically review the constant changes that surround the area of immunization
